Regeneratively Farmed Cheddar
October 11, 2023
From the ground up, presenting KISS’s concept for Golden Hooves farm shop range of cheddar. 🐮
Just a little over a year ago, KISS was brought on board to create the initial Golden Hooves brand for First Milk, their first consumer-facing vending service that offered their own regenerative farmed dairy produce on site of farms. KISS helped bring together a brand that they could offer to consumers and provide an opportunity for farmers to earn additional income and develop relationships with their local community.
The brand has since evolved from vends to farm shop products. As part of the exploration of this range, we created a range of pack concepts inspired by the interaction of cow hooves with Mother Earth.
A crucial part of regenerative practices is to keep the herd on the fields to massage the topsoil with their hooves. This stimulates biodiversity and nourishment of the soil. Inspired by the natural textures and layers of soil, we brought forward the grittiness on the pack which complements the crumbly nature of Cheddar itself. We felt it was important the packs felt handmade and local so a lockup was crafted that felt like a stamp printed on a natural texture card. Using warm oranges, yellows and browns with hand-drawn texture on pack we evoked taste appeal and stand out whilst always staying connected to the regen story. Central of the pack is a crafted cow emblem with planet Earth, signalling the importance of regen cheddar and our future planet.
Overall our vision for the packs was to create a design that felt locally crafted, tasty and conveyed the regenerative story. Full case study coming soon.
