Context
The project involved reimagining Bar Elba, already a successful venue in Waterloo London but showing signs of fatigue. The goal was to refresh the brand and interior design, unlocking new opportunities for corporate events and increasing guest numbers.
Following a site visit and strategic workshop with the client, it became clear that the venue’s panoramic skyline views were its greatest asset. Rooftop bars thrive on escapism from the city below, and this location offered the perfect vantage point for a concept rooted in rooftop revelry and storytelling.
The Concept
Perched high above Waterloo, the rooftop inspired a playful new identity. A divine escape where guests ascend to party among the gods. Enter Circe, the mythical enchantress and daughter of Helios, the sun god. As muse of the new brand, Circe’s legacy of potions, parties, and transformation laid the foundation for a rich and evocative concept. The result is a rooftop bar that feels otherworldly, fun and endlessly shareable.
The Impact
The best launch campaign of 2025
Following a high-impact marketing build-up, Circe’s launched in summer 2024 and went on to win Best Launch Campaign of 2025 at the Restaurant Marketer & Innovator Awards. Within a year, Circe’s amassed 29k social followers, an achievement that took the previous concept seven years. The rebrand also delivered measurable business success, with significant increases in corporate bookings and evening footfall.
Huge thanks to Alan Armstrong and his team at Spaceman Marketing. To Lee Ramskill and everyone at Circe’s to setting such high standard of service and curate fantastic events and performers and to Tobias Jackson for orchestrating it all and bringing everyone together, from interiors to brand to F&B, marketing and PR.
