Brand Identity / Naming

Next Generation VR

The Challenge

The challenge of creating a brand identity for a VR experience was an exciting one. We knew that we had to create a bold identity that would capture a sense of endless possibility and sheer excitement while being able to showcase the broad range of virtual reality experiences being offered, from free roam VR to multiplayer arenas and solo adventures.

These experiences ranging from zombie invasions to building adventures and pure escapism, we had to develop an identity that could seamlessly tie all these diverse experiences together.

Naming was a critical step in the process, and for this brand, we wanted to create a name that would capture the essence of the mixed virtual reality experience offered. After careful consideration and research, we created the name ALTVERSE, which is a combination of “alternative universes.”

Hyper-dynamic logo mark

We looked to create a logo that was modern and timeless, something that could fit on anything from the cutting edge of virtual reality technology to a traditional billboard. We achieved this by using the A and V as a portal device.

It became a hyper-dynamic logo – designed to be versatile, adaptable and iconic, making it an ideal fit for a gaming platform with multiple use-cases. Whether it’s being used on a website, a social media post, or with any game, our logo is always recognisable and allows any game within the experience to shine through – literally.

Parent brand architecture

Level X is a social entertainment space that houses multiple brands, including ALTVERSE. As a parent brand, Level X’s brand architecture allows its subsidiary brands to fit in comfortably while still maintaining their unique identities.

To achieve this, we developed ALTVERSE to accommodate varying degrees of complexities and hierarchies. We ensured that each brand’s identity could flex and stand out while remaining true to the overarching brand identity of Level X.

Thanks to Shane Goldberg, the Northforge Team and to Tim for sending this wicked project our way.
